Get Serious About Volunteers

While it may appear easier to plan a golf tournament yourself, than to coordinate a group of volunteers, do not attempt to organize a tournament alone.

1. It is more work than you think. Organizing a golf tournament is some of the most time-consuming work for a group. There are always more details than anticipated; it takes longer to secure sponsorship dollars than you think and, yes, sometimes volunteers’ enthusiasm wanes, leaving a few committee members to carry the extra work.

2. Strength in numbers. The saying, “There is strength in numbers” truly applies to golf tournament planning. Even professional tournament planners rely on the strength of working with a committee of four to eight workers. Aside from sharing the detailed work, committee members contribute invaluable ideas, establish and maintain relationships with possible sponsors, golfing foursomes and most importantly, they help support your goals.

3. Choosing volunteers. Some individuals join because they have a personal connection to the chosen cause, others want to receive recognition and others just want to be part of a group. Find out why someone is interested in joining the committee and how they can contribute to the golf tournament’s success. Everyone who joins the committee should be prepared to contribute time, money or contacts.

4. Hold volunteers accountable. Have you ever worked with a committee to find out that a few committee members really don't do anything, offering a lot of talk of whom they know but not even leveraging those relationships?

Get serious about volunteers. Outline, in writing, your expectations and the responsibilities of three to four committee chairs and their volunteer committees. Let each chair recruit members to their own committee. Offer training to volunteers. Develop a regular reporting system, celebrating successes and noting incomplete action items. All of these simple tips hold volunteers accountable and let them know that you expect them to contribute more than just their presence.

1. Return Policy on Logo’d or Custom-Printed Products

No returns on items that are logo’d or custom printed – all sales are final.

2. Return Policy on Non-Logo’d or Non Custom-Printed Products

We accept eligible returns within 15 days of customer receiving order.
Eligible returns apply to non logo’d or non custom-printed products only.
Products must be in resalable and unused condition to be returned.
Please contact us at info@tournamentstoatee.com to authorize a return.
We refund the money in the same way the customer originally paid.
We process refunds within one week of receiving an authorized return.
We charge no more than 10% as a restocking fee.
Customer is responsible for shipping costs to return products.
We pay for all standard shipping costs, charge no restocking fees and accept all returned items when the return is a result of our error.
